Reiki, pronounced "Ray Key", is a way of using natural healing energy to help clear issues and blockages on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
Rei = "Universal" or "God's Wisdom"
Ki = "Life force energy"
So Reiki means "Spiritually guided life force energy".
It is often experienced as heat or cold and forms the base through which many other healing energies can work (Seichem, the Healing Order of the Golden Dragon...)
Each of these attunements is a strong spiritual experience. The process is guided by a higher consciousness and the Higher Self of the recipient and is therefore completely safe.The attunement can also increase psychic sensitivity and a greater ability to manifest. Many often report experiences involving the opening of the third eye, an increased intuitive awareness, a sharper sensitivity to energies around and other psychic abilities after receiving an attunement. With time and practice these abilities will greatly increase as the natural channelling path opens further and sensitivity develops.
You may notice a instant change or a more gradual shift over days or weeks after an initiation.
Once you have received an attunement, you will have the ability to channel that specific energy for the remainder of your life.
History of Reiki

Some Reiki associations require attunements to be performed in person in order to accept a new member. If you wish to join an association later on, please check with them what their requirements are on this matter. Please also note that joining an association is absolutely not mandatory to work as a Reiki practitioner or teacher ( they are often mostly just an additional means of advertising for your practice).
Reiki - Level 1
Attunements should be followed by daily self-treatments for approximately 21 days
Manual 1 Content:
This course covers the history and origin of Reiki. It also contains information about the chakras, the aura and the use and benefits of energy healing. Furthermore, initiates will learn self-treatment techniques and how to heal others (the emphasis of this level being on self-healing and personal development).
Prerequisite:
No previous attunement or knowledge is necessary.

Reiki - Level 2
The Reiki 2 attunement enables you to channel a much greater volume of energy and from a much broader frequency range. This attunement also helps to release a lot of karma.

Manual 2 Content:
This course will provide detailed information on the traditional, the Tera Mai™ and the Cammalot® symbols. You will also learn how to perform a distant healing and enhance your own self healing. This level is mostly concerned with emotional and mental healing.
Prerequisite:
Reiki 1 attunement (Tera Mai™ or Cammalot Reiki). It is recommended to wait for a minimum of one month before doing the second level.

Manual 3 Content:
This manual will teach you about the last symbols and how to perform attunements on others, hands-on and over distance. You will learn the breathing and contractions techniques as well as the colour sequences which are used during the attunements. The third level attunements are extremely powerful and will greatly increase your sensitivity and psychic abilities.
Prerequisite:
Reiki 2 (Tera Mai™ or Cammalot Reiki). It is recommended to wait for a minimum of about 3 to 6 months before doing the third level attunements.
